Chicken in the Kitchen. My 13th and latest collection features the most popular poems, as requested by children during my last 20 years of school visits, from my first eight poetry books. And yes, the 'banana' poem is in it too along with two new previously unpublished poems. All of these poems are extremely suitable for performance. Published by Troika. Ages 6-12, £9.
The Shape of Rainbows. My 12th book and my first mixed-themed poetry book since my second. Published by Otter-Barry Books, it has something for everyone: Peanut Butter Nutter, Police Car, Two Mums, Living Next Door to a Viking and The Day I Ate My School are a few of the titles you'll find inside it. As always with my books, some of the fifty or so poems are laugh out loud, while others need further reflection. ‘An inventive, entertaining collection of poems, woven through with wordplay and ideal for reading and performing aloud, especially in the classroom.’ Guardian newspaper. Ages 6-12, £9.
The Universal Zoo (The Conservation Place at the Far End of Space). Containing many funny and a few sadder poems about a menagerie of mysterious endangered alien creatures all cared for by the Keeper in this special places, at the far end of space, which is a long way from Earth. All of the forty or so aliens featured have their own poem including the Ticklelix, Brown Belch of Iko, Gronk, Worry Fish, Zany Zakaloptofly, Snoralotz plus many more. Ages 6-12, £9.
Small Poems for Big Imaginations. Jan 2026 sees the arrival of my 14th poetry book, published by Otter-Barry. It’s a collection of many very short poems to hopefully engage the less-keen child reader as well as those who are already book converts. As always, there’s plenty of word play and humour along with some more thoughtful poems included inside. Ages 6-12, £9.
